The other day while watching a true man of God on periscope, a popular prophet, I realized something; God’s will is not an option for you, it is a necessity.
Oftentimes Christians believe they know God because they grew up in the church. Their salvation extends to them truly believing in their heart that Jesus is the son of God. They accept Jesus as their Savior, but have not made Him Lord over their life.
In the book of Jeremiah 29:11 it states, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” This is the King James Version of this scripture and in some versions it says “for I know the plans I have for you.”
God has a plan for you and part of His plan is being in his will. I know many pastors preach about God’s permissive will versus his perfect will. There is no permissive will, either you are in the will of God for your life or you are not.
You do have a choice however, and can choose to be outside of God’s will. Because of God’s mercy and grace, people seem to think that is God’s approval to sin, in other words they continue to live outside of God’s will. Wrong answer, it is not!
For instance, if you are living with a person in a relationship and you are not married to him or her, that it is not God’s will. I have seen dozens of women who live with men and know God wants them to leave. Somehow the devil has convince them to believe this common lie, “God’s not ready for me to leave yet, it is not time.”
There is never a time God wants you to stay in sin, absolutely NEVER!!! God has a plan for you and it does not include living with a person you are not married to. Other tricks of the enemy uses to keep us out of God’s will, especially pertaining to living with someone, is the person marries them.
I know this is going to hurt a lot of people to hear this but the solution to stop sinning when living in sin is not always marriage. I t might not be God’s will for you to marry that person but because you have been living with someone for 20 years, it is hard to hear God’s will for your life in this particular area.
It is important to accept Jesus as not only your Savior but also as Lord over your life, you must do this so you will understand God’s will for your life, the plans He has for you. When we do this we seek God daily on what He wants for us, not what we think we need. Sin is never what God wants for us; it is never part of his plan to prosper us.
Also remember you may not be in a sinful lifestyle, but is where you work, how you raise your family, where you attend church, and who you date a part of God’s will for your life ? You may not be in sin but are you in an environment that is helping your spirit grow, is it helping you draw closer to God?
