The other day while watching a true man of God on periscope, a popular prophet, I realized something; God’s will is not an option for you, it is a necessity.
Oftentimes Christians believe they know God because they grew up in the church. Their salvation extends to them truly believing in their heart that Jesus is the son of God. They accept Jesus as their Savior, but have not made Him Lord over their life.
In the book of Jeremiah 29:11 it states, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” This is the King James Version of this scripture and in some versions it says “for I know the plans I have for you.”
God has a plan for you and the plan consists of us being in His will. I know many pastors preach about God’s permissive will versus his perfect will. There is no permissive will, either you are in the will of God for your life or you are not.
You do have a choice however to be outside of God’s will. Because of God’s mercy and grace, people seem to think it is His approval of our sin; in other words they continue being content living outside of God’s will. Wrong answer, it is not!
For instance, if you are living with a person in a relationship and you are not married to him or her, it is not the will of God. Many women who live with men admit to knowing God wants them to leave. Somehow the devil has convinced them to believe this common lie, “God’s not ready for me to leave yet, it is not time.”
There is never a time God wants you to stay in sin, absolutely NEVER!!! He has a plan for you and it does not include cohabitation with someone you are not married to. Also I know this is going to hurt a lot of people to hear this, but the solution to stop living in sin is not always marriage.
It can be a trick of the enemy and may not be God’s will for you to marry that person. If you have been living with someone for 20 years, it is hard to hear God’s will for your life in this particular area. You must ask yourself is this person the one God has for you and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you.
It is important to accept Jesus as not only your Savior but also as Lord over your life, the bible tells us to commit your ways unto the Lord. When we do this we seek God daily on what He wants for us, not what we think we need. Never be deceived in thinking we can prosper by sinning against God.
If you are not in a sinful lifestyle ask yourself is everything in my life in alignment with God’s plan for me. Is where you work, how you raise your family, where you attend church and who you are dating part of God’s divine purpose for your life? You may not be in sin but are you in an environment where your spirit is growing, is it helping you draw closer to God?
