I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Myles Munroe in 2009 and I was fascinated by God’s anointing on his life. Munroe was well-spoken and his knowledge of how the Spirit of God works was impressive. So why did I feel a strong spirit of fear come over me when I heard about his tragic death?
Munroe and his wife along with seven other passengers were recently killed in a plane crash on his private jet. Hearing the news, I instantly felt fear but not a spirit of being afraid. The Holy Spirit revealed it was a fear to always reverence God, never man. No matter how great the teachings are from a leader, remember the anointing is from God.
Dr. Munroe was a man just like everyone else. He had a certain time on earth to fulfill his calling and he did so. Everyone has a purpose on this earth and only has a certain amount of time to do it. Dr. Munroe was one of the rare ones that fulfilled his purpose.
Believers need to understand and know what they are called to do. Fortunately Dr. Munroe found out his calling early and decided to follow Christ. Many people of the world and even Christians, are chasing wealth and fame. They believe this is part of their purpose and becoming successful. Only what you do for God will last and salvation is the key to having a successful life.
Dr. Munroe’s legacy continues to live on through his children despite his sudden death. What he accomplished still affects others all around the world. What was his accomplishment? He preached the Kingdom of God to nations and proclaimed the good news of Jesus Christ. His teachings on the Word of God is helping believers have a better understanding about the Kingdom of God.
I am thanking God for the anointing that was bestowed on Dr. Munroe’s life. He encouraged others to complete their God given task and to remember you only have a certain amount of time to do so. Imagine knowing you did God’s will for your life on this earth and one day will hear the Lord say, “Well done my faithful servant.”
